One thing I have always loved about yoga is that it truly is for every “body.” I have been practicing on and off for over 12 years. In the past five years, I have been more consistent. When I first started practicing in my early 20s, I definitely felt intimidated. Everywhere I turned I seemed to be seeing twig like woman bending themselves into oblivion.

I was very insecure with my body to begin with and was constantly comparing myself to other people who I thought I could never be like. The beginning of my yoga journey was not smooth sailing because I had to learn how to deal with my body and mind. Yoga has seriously transformed my relationship to myself, people, and life in ways I never even imagined.

Yoga Beyond Belief by Ganga White, is one of my favorite books of all time. Ganga, who is a seasoned yogi, thoroughly explains the philosophy and history of this amazing sophisticated system. I have come to find that yoga is more of a mental practice that anything else. Yoga balances the body, mind, and spirit. From my perspective, yoga is one of the most transformational tools we have available on earth.

I decided to become a yoga teacher because of the profound difference it has made for me. Just like most of us when we discover or find something amazing, our natural instinct is to want to share it with others. Hot yoga has always been one of my favorite types of yoga to practice.

Currently, I am teaching at Hot Yoga4you SRQ in Sarasota, Florida. I also love teaching private sessions for individuals or groups. I teach basic, beginner, and intermediate classes which include yin and restorative yoga.
